Teen wants your help to bring peace to the world
A Belleville East student is organizing a Peace Gathering for Aug. 13 in Belleville.
The Belleville City Council approved the event at its meeting earlier this week.
Cayla Adams, a high school junior, said working with the city on the event was “actually pretty interesting.”
The 16-year-old said the event will feature singer Anthony Lucius as well as guest speakers. In addition, several metro-east organizations will be on hand sharing information with attendees.
“It’s a chance for the community come together,” Cayla said.
The Peace Gathering will start at 1 p.m. at the Public Square in downtown Belleville.
