Marching Panthers win first place at invitational

The Marching Panthers won first place in the Class 4A competition on Saturday night at the Belleville East Marching Invitational.

Fifteen bands attended the event plus Belleville East who performed in exhibition at the end.

The marching band at O’Fallon Township High School won outstanding music, outstanding visual, outstanding color guard, outstanding general effect, and outstanding percussion as well as grand champion.

The Marching Panthers do not perform this week. Some of the Panthers will be attending the Illinois Music Education Association District Band Festival. Other band members will be working at the O’Fallon Art and Craft Fair which runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 to 4 p.m. Sunday.

The final competition of the season will be the Grand Nationals Event to be held Nov. 10-12 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind. The Panthers are slated to perform in the preliminary competition at 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11.
