Althoff senior Jordan Goodwin, one of the most sought-after basketball recruits in the country, has trimmed his list of suitors to seven.

Goodwin announced Tuesday night on Twitter that he will decide between Illinois, Missouri, St. Louis University, Alabama, Northwestern, Butler and Creighton.

The 6-foot-4 Goodwin, a first-team all-state selection and the two-time Belleville News-Democrat Class 3A-4A Player of the Year, averaged 19 points, nine rebounds and 3.2 assists as the Crusaders (32-2) won the Class 3A state championship.

Purdue, Kansas State, Indiana, Wisconsin, Michigan State, California, Connecticut, Ohio State, Oklahoma State, Iowa State, Pittsburgh, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M and Virginia Tech were among the other offers Goodwin had received. He also had an offer to play football from Iowa.

Goodwin’s close friend, Belleville East junior Javon Pickett, has committed to Illinois, as has former East St. Louis center Jeremiah Tilmon. Belleville East graduate Malcolm Hill will be a senior at Illinois this season.

Tilmon played last season at La Lumiere School in La Porte, Ind. He was rated by ESPN.com as the No. 1 prospect in the state for 2017, followed at No. 2 by Goodwin.

O’Fallon native Roosevelt Jones spent the last four years playing at Butler.
