Why is Jack Henry’s in Fairview Heights not open yet? Here’s what the owner says
Folks continue to ask about the new Fairview Heights restaurant located at the former site of Agostino’s Restaurant & Bar.
Jack Henry’s was slated to open in September at 130 Ludwig Drive. Obviously, that did not happen, and two months later folks are still waiting. And wondering.
I do have an update.
Owner Dawn Goodwin-Malone said in a phone interview that Jack Henry’s was put on the back burner pending needed repairs to the roof, a freezer and a cooler, all of which are required before she’ll be able to pass a commercial occupancy inspection.
At this time Goodwin-Malone is getting ready to open another location in Rome, Iowa, which opens on Thanksgiving Day.
For now, we’ll have to wait a bit longer for the new eatery and all it will offer. I’ll share new info as it comes my way.
About the location
Prior to this year, 130 Ludwig Drive was the site of three other restaurants:
Carlos O’Kelly’s Mexican Café: November 1993 to November 2008;
Little Italy: July 2009 to December 2010;
Agostino’s Restaurant & Bar: November 2011 to February 2023.
