O’Fallon’s KC Club & Event Center has a new kitchen partner. Fish fries returning soon
Folks can experience some new fare at a kitchen now open at the KC Club & Event Center in O’Fallon.
Joey’s Scratch Kitchen is holding a soft opening for its first week of operations, said the KC Club’s barn manager, Brad Cason.
Cason said owner Joe Parisi and his team began preparing last week once they were officially selected as the club’s new food partner.
Parisi said he’d have the kitchen ready to go in one week, said Cason, who was skeptical before quickly realized that they were “not playin’ around” and got it all done.
New equipment was brought in, existing equipment was upgraded, said Cason.
Joey’s Scratch Kitchen is an “excellent addition to our club,” he said.
The partnership was announced on the KC Club’s Facebook page Wednesday, Nov. 20.
“Chef Joe will be bringing the old school fish fry and fried chicken nites (sic) like back in the day per public request,” stated the post. “They will be doing traditional bar food specialty sandwiches and a stone grill homemade pizza from Scratch. They will also be introducing weekly dinner specials.”
Fish fries will return in January, Cason said.
The current menu is available on the Facebook pages for both the KC Club and Joey’s Scratch Kitchen.
Here are the offerings:
Appetizers: toasted ravioli, toasted canneloni, fried mozzarella wedges, chicken tenders, super nachos, stuffed mushrooms and wings;
Soup/Salad: soup of the day (seasonal), house salad, Italian salad, Caesar salad, spinach salad;
Sandwiches: The Joey Burger (two 4-ounce patties, choice of cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle), chicken cutlet, chicken parmesan, hot roast beef, steak, B.L.T. and pork cutlet;
Entrées: lasagna, chicken with prosciutto tortellini;
Pizza: supreme, meat lovers, build-your-own; available in 9-, 12- and 16-inch;
Sides: waffle fries, green beans, potato salad, pub chips, side salad.
Food will be served daily from 3 p.m. to close. Cason said, however, that options could be limited to pizza – which is homemade and made from scratch – late in the evening, depending on customers’ ordering patterns.
Previous partnership
David Sandusky’s Smoke & Kettle was the previous kitchen partner at the KC Club & Event Center and debuted there in February.
A second location was added in June to Catholic War Veterans Post 370, located at 3531 State Route 159 between Belleville and Smithton.
Smoke & Kettle is now serving exclusively at the Catholic War Vets location, according to a Nov. 2 post on the business’ Facebook page.
Cason did not say why Smoke & Kettle made the change. Sandusky declined to comment.
Hours for Smoke & Kettle are listed as 4-8 p.m. Wednesday-Sunday. For more info, call 618-631-7284 or visit smokeandkettle.com.
