Vote in Round One of our poll for favorite bartender in downtown Belleville

The response for nominations in our latest poll—favorite bartender in downtown Belleville—did not disappoint. Thanks to those who participated.

While it seemed limited, keeping the poll focused on the downtown area was done for a reason. Do you know how many fine establishments are in all of Belleville? There are so many, and the number of nominees for that many places ... yikes. The upside is that we can have another poll later for best barkeep in other parts of town.

So how many nominees are there from downtown? Forty-two.

One of the questions asked of readers making nominations was, “Why are they your favorite?” Answers ranged from personality to skill as mixologists. Here are some examples:

“Always knows us and our favorite drinks. He’s also creative and will tailor any cocktail to my personal preferences.” – Brigit J., Belleville, of Landon at Charlie’s Place and SPACES

“In addition to always being so nice and kind, Maeden [Grafted] makes a MEAN cocktail. She’s never served me a drink that I didn’t love. She’s also willing to experiment, and if you tell her what kind of drink you like, she’ll create something delicious for you.” – Hunter R., Belleville

“About a year and a half ago Grace [Tavern on Main] started new monthly drinks, and her creativity with these is endless. She is warm and welcoming, and treats everyone the same from the homeless person who stops in for a drink of water to the classiest lawyer in town wanting a martini.” – Linda P., Shiloh

“She is always on top of it and always has a big smile on her face! She works her tail off and is always there and reliable to know your order before you even order!” – Jill H., Belleville, of Mary at CopperFire

With so many great choices, you have your work cut out for you. From now through Sunday, vote for your favorites. The top 10 bartenders will go on to Round Two, and from there it will be decided who is the favorite bartender in downtown Belleville.

Vote for one multiple times, or vote for multiple bartenders. It’s your choice. Either way, it’s all just for fun. Happy voting!
