Decomposed body found Tuesday at Cahokia auto dealership identified
Police found the badly decomposed body of a woman in a car Tuesday morning in the 500 block of Illinois 3 in Cahokia.
St. Clair County coroner Calvin Dye Sr. identified the woman as Michelle R. Johnson, 38. The homeless woman was pronounced dead at 11:02 a.m.
Cahokia Police Capt. Plew said the car in which Johnson was discovered was parked at an automotive repair shop and car dealership. Investigators are not certain how long the body had been there or the circumstances surrounding Johnson’s death.
