Person ejected from vehicle, taken to hospital following rollover crash in Belleville

A person was ejected from a vehicle and transported to a local hospital following a rollover crash in Belleville around 5:45 a.m. Thursday, according to the Illinois State Police.

The one-car accident took place on westbound Illinois 15 near 11th Street. The person’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

According to the state police, the right lane of Illinois 15 was closed from approximately 8:30 to 9:06 a.m. and has been open since.

“There were no road closures as far as investigating the accident,” Sgt. Neil Lohman with the Illinois State Police said Thursday morning. “It was just shut down momentarily to get the vehicle towed.”

Police are still investigating the accident.
