There’s still time to vote for a favorite new southwest IL restaurant. See who’s in the lead
With less than a week remaining in the favorite new restaurant poll, there’s still time to help your eatery of choice rack up some votes.
More readers have participated in the last week (thank you all for that!), but I’m looking for that final push.
Am I right to think that, like me, most people unplugged over the holidays? Or did you, again like me, overindulge in the holiday eats that restaurants were the last thing on your minds?
Fair enough.
But now that you’ve had time to digest or rejoin the online world, what’s stopping you from voting?
Nothing? I thought so.
But before you make your picks, here’s a little update on how the poll is going.
Since my last update, Smithton’s Village Pizza To-Go boosted its lead, going from 83 votes a week ago to 267 votes today.
Speak to Miss J climbed its way up from sixth to second place with 62 votes, passing June’s Breakfast + Patio, which very close behind in third place with 60 votes.
Smithton Kountry Market has 34 votes, and 1929 Pizza & Wine has 19 votes.
Here are the other restaurants in the poll, in order of highest to lowest vote totals:
- Clara B’s Kitchen Table, Belleville
- O’Town Food Hall and Tap House, O’Fallon
- Papa Vito’s, Smithton
- Hawaiian Brother Island Grill, O’Fallon
- A&W Restaurant, Belleville
- Wise Guys, Belleville
- The Gasthaus (The Cobblestone), Lebanon
- Hi-Pointe Drive-In, O’Fallon
- Edley’s Bar-B-Que, O’Fallon

Please remember that these polls are just for fun. There’s nothing scientific about them.
The poll will be open through Jan. 8. If you have trouble viewing the poll, try turning off your ad blocker.
