Illinois State Police investigate crash that shutdown westbound Interstate 64

A traffic crash involving a tractor-trailer and several passenger vehicles caused westbound Interstate 64 to be shut down Saturday morning near Shiloh in St. Clair County.

Minor injuries were reported at the scene at milepost 16.

Illinois State Police Troop 8 based in Collinsville responded to investigate the crash at 10:31 a.m., according to a news release from the agency.

At the scene, police learned a truck-tractor/semi-trailer and several passenger vehicles were involved. Lanes were closed to investigate the crash but were later reopened.

The crash remains under investigation. Police did not release any other information about the crash, including the condition of the persons injured or whether tickets were issued.
