A newly-constructed building intended to house a plasma center later this year is now on the market.

The facility for ImmunoTek Plasma Center, located at 5510 N. Belt West in Belleville, is currently part of a commercial real estate portfolio that includes six other properties located in Georgia, North Carolina, Michigan and New York.

Six of the seven properties are newly constructed or fully-renovated facilities, according to the real estate listing. The other property is a land parcel. All the addresses are listed as facilities “Coming Soon” on the ImmunoTek website.

A Georgia area news outlet reported in March that ImmunoTek would build a facility in LaGrange, Georgia, which is the undeveloped land parcel in the portfolio.

It is not currently known why ImmunoTek abandoned its plan to open the Belleville facility.

Eric Schauster, Belleville’s assistant director of economic development, planning and zoning, said the city was told the center would not open due to “something out of their control.”

Messages to Sandy Santo, marketing director for ImmunoTek, and the company’s media relations team were not immediately returned.

The BND first reported the development in December 2023, when construction was underway.

The city approved the project to build the 9,000-square-foot medical facility in November 2022. At that time, former Mayor Patty Gregory stated that the facility would provide 40 new jobs in Belleville, consisting of doctors and medical lab technicians.

In June 2024, Santo told the BND the facility’s construction was nearly complete and that the company anticipated a third-quarter 2025 opening.
