Coroner IDs woman killed in metro-east crash

Funeral services have been set for a 24-year-old Prairie du Rocher woman who died in a single-vehicle, rollover crash over the weekend near the Ste. Genevieve-Modoc Ferry, authorities said.

Ally L. Melliere was pronounced dead at the scene early Sunday, according to a news release from the Randolph County Coroner’s Office Tuesday.

Melliere was a passenger in a 2022 Jeep Wrangler driven by Emilie R. Kingston, 24, of Waterloo, according to a traffic crash report by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office.

The Wrangler was going north on Levee Road approaching Modoc Ferry Road at 2:29 a.m. Sunday when it “left the roadway, overturned and came to rest north of Modoc Ferry Rd.,” the report states.

Kingston was taken to Saint Louis University Hospital, according to the crash report.

The crash also is being investigated by Illinois State Police in addition to the coroner’s office and sheriff’s department.
