From maintenance work to positions in engineering, there are a variety of listings available from the state. Here’s what to know about five Illinois state government positions available in the metro-east.
Site technician II
Agency: Department of Natural Resources
Wage: $4,747 anticipated starting monthly pay effective July 1, full range of $4,747 to $6,446 monthly
Location: Carlyle

Minimum qualifications for this position include education and experience equivalent to high school graduation and two years of maintenance or farming experience, preferably associated with the building trades and/or operation of heavy equipment and machinery, the listing says. Preferred qualifications also apply.
Job responsibilities include, according to the listing:
- “Under direct supervision, performs semi-skilled work and travels in the maintenance and operation of Eldon Hazlet State Park.
- Participates in the maintenance to all site structures.

Minimum qualifications for this position include “knowledge, skill and mental development” equivalent to completion of four years of college and four years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a social or human services organization, preferably within a Mental Health or Developmental Disabilities Organization, the listing says. - “Serves as Center Director for Murray Developmental Center. Provides overall direction, review, and enforcement of standards of individual habilitation in accordance with Departmental Policy and Procedures, Directives, Center policies and procedures, IDPH (Illinois Department of Public Health), Federal, CMS (Central Management Services) and other relevant standards.

Clinical pharmacist

Minimum qualifications for this position include a current license as a registered pharmacist in the state of Illinois and one year of professional experience as a practicing registered pharmacist, according to the listing. Preferred qualifications also apply.

- “Directs and supervises, on a day-to-day basis, the bridge inspection team in the continuing detailed field inspection of bridges and structures throughout the district to ensure compliance with the National Bridge Inspection Standards.

Registered nurse I

Minimum qualifications for this position include licensure as a Registered Nurse in Illinois and graduation from an approved nursing education program resulting in an associate or diploma degree in nursing or a bachelor’s degree in nursing, according to the listing.
