O’Fallon High School boys lacrosse team starts season on high note

The O’Fallon High School boys varsity lacrosse team kicked off their 2020 season with an 11-3 win over Francis Howell at home Wednesday.

The offense spread the ball around well with eight different players scoring goals. Braden Gaab led the charge with four goals, David Tady added two, and additional goals were scored by Josh McIntyre, Tristen Christ, Liam Prindable, Abe Ford, and Beau Carney.

Gaab was also strong on the faceoff winning 91 percent of the matchups and picking up 10 ground balls. The defense had an outstanding night as well, with the team causing 12 turnovers led by Ryan Ritchie with four and Matt DeVoe with three. Dunlap led the defense with six ground balls. The Panthers played a clean game with an unprecedented no penalties.

Then, on Saturday, the Panthers fell to SLUH 15-8. The season is now postponed due to coronavirus concerns.
