O’Fallon boys tennis team continues to rack up impressive accomplishments

The O’Fallon boys tennis team recently posted two more impressive performances.

At the Triad Quad, the Panthers went 3-0 to finish in first place, defeating Centralia 5-1, Althoff 5-0 and O’Fallon 4-2.

Then, on Saturday, April 16, at the Robert Logan Memorial Doubles Tournament in Alton, O’Fallon’s No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 doubles teams won their flights. As a team, the Panthers finished second and were three points behind Dunlap, which finished first.

“The boys played great on Saturday and battled in each of their matches,” OTHS coach Erin Thoman said. “There were really good matches. We brought home six medals and a second place team trophy. Great job boys and congrats to the top three doubles teams on winning their flights — that’s awesome! Way to go!”

Here were the results:

  • No. 1 doubles: Kaden Vollmer and Nic Strobel — first place.
  • No. 2 doubles: Gavin Sohn and Ben VanAlstine — first place.
  • No. 3 doubles: Cameron Woll and Rowen Brunner — first place.
  • No. 4 doubles: Wyatt Heap and Jett Mithlo — sixth place.
