O’Fallon girls tennis defeats Highland, competes in prestigious Missouri tournament
The O’Falllon High School girls tennis team posted a solid 7-2 non-conference victory against Highland on Thursday, Sept. 1.
“It was a great match, and the girls played well,” Panthers coach Erin Thoman said. “They gave it their all.”
O’Fallon received doubles wins from Bela Sanghavi and Natalie Spihlman and Isabel Wells and Analiese Reidelberger. In singles, Wells, Sanghavi, Spihlman Reidelberger and Katie Tillock each posted victories.
The following day, O’Fallon played in the Heather Bradshaw Tournament, and was in the top flight. The Panthers lost to St. Joe’s on Friday, Sept. 2 — the Missouri state champions who ended up capturing the tournament.
Action Saturday, Sept. 3, was canceled due to rain.
“It was awesome competition for the girls to see,” Thoman said.
O’Fallon is scheduled to resume action Thursday, Sept. 8, at Edwardsville before facing Chatham Glenwood at home Saturday.
