Please list highlights of your civic involvement:

Member of the Planning and Zoning Commission for the village of Glen Carbon, 2015 to 2017; village trustee, 2017 to present

As chair of the Public Services Committee, we worked with department heads to propose a $7.4 million bond issue to fund the village’s Street Maintenance Program and improve infrastructure. The voters approved it in 2020. This will strengthen the village’s aggressive approach in improving roadways throughout the village.

Why are you running?

I am running to keep Glen Carbon a welcoming and safe place to live, work and raise a family.

What is the top issue in your race, and how would you address it?

One of my priorities is to ensure our police department has the resources it needs to keep Glen Carbon a safe community. We recently voted to approve license-plate cameras on Illinois 157, and I would like to continue to support the safety and training initiatives of Police Chief Todd Link.

Why should people vote for you?

I think people should vote for me because, as mayor, I will draw from my experience as village trustee and as an attorney for nearly 20 years. I will use my experience to improve village processes to make it easier for residents to work with the village. I also want to ensure that the village responds to residents in a timely manner, so they know that they are heard and that the village is working on their issue.
