Please list the highlights of your civic involvement: Work: I have assisted patients in increasing mental health awareness through individual and group counseling several different areas. I have counseled all ages over my 20-year career and have been very active in continuing education in several areas in health, mental health, disabilities, healthcare initiatives, and most recently the holistic practice evolution of my profession.

Why are you running? Because I love people. Also, so I can use my knowledge and research abilities to contribute positive change for the future of our community.

What is the top issue in your race, and how would you address it? Transparency. I have actively listened to community members over the years frustrated living here in New Baden; a few have moved to Trenton or surrounding communities. Many community members feel unheard, even if and when they attend meetings or send emails there’s some sort of detachment from actions. I would address this through having transparency in my actions and open lines of communication; I will say exactly why I vote a certain way based on the supporting research I’ve completed and be accessible to the public.

Why should people vote for you? I’m honest, hard-working, and a research-based professional with a quirky, fun side. Overwhelming faith guides everything I do; I feel a push from God to run for this position. I realize I will be met with challenges and I will take each one in stride, objectively for the betterment of our community. I would greatly appreciate the opportunity over the next four years to assist in helping our community heal from the past, propelling us forward in a more positive direction for future businesses and residents. I respect anyone in our community who has ever served as trustee or mayor because I realize they might not get the appreciation public officials deserve; it is tough to attempt pleasing everyone … let’s face it, we’re not ice cream.
