Why are you running? To be honest, when I first ran for village trustee it was because there was a need as there was an opening and no interest from the public. I felt that someone should fill that position that cared deeply about our village, was fiscally responsible and would make decisions for the good of the community as a whole, and not just to fill a personal agenda. At the time, both of our children were in college, and I found my self with a need to continue my community involvement, which to that point had been mostly filled with school-related organizations. Once I became a board member, I enjoyed being able to help our village maintain its charm while embracing growth. I am committed to be cognizant to the fact that every dollar spent comes from the hard workers of our village. I try to keep that in the forefront of my mind as we approach budget issues.
What is the top issue in your race, and how would you address it? I feel that the top issue facing our village is maintaining a balanced budget while providing the services that are most important to our community. We as a board have worked very hard in my tenure as village trustee to maintain responsible spending.
Why should people vote for you? I would like to continue my work as a trustee by seeking responsible solutions to the needs of our community, while keeping in mind the good of the whole village.
