Why are you running? I am running for a seat on the school board because it’s time for change. There should be representation that mirrors the students that attend LCUSD #9 as well as the citizens in the community. There should be new faces that will objectively look at issues that are presented as well as stress the importance of success and educational opportunities for each student.
What is the top issue in your race, and how would you address it? The top issue is to turn around the declination of education during this pandemic. I see the ups and downs of the effects on the students, teachers and staff firsthand. It is important that there is continued accountability, transparency and safety in place at all times. The way I would address it is to follow the guidelines that are in place and explore options to ensure the success of the students regardless of whether they are remote or in person without suspending any services.
Why should people vote for you? People should vote for me because I bring something different to the table. I bring experience and a consistent record for putting children first, experience in education, integrity, diversity and the ability to look at things objectively. I will be looking forward to serving the students that deserve a board that will consider their best interest at all times.
