Why are you running? I am running because I am an active participant in my children’s lives, especially their education. Currently I have a daughter in sixth grade and son in third grade in the district, and my eldest daughter graduated in 2020.
My parents were both teachers, and my wife is a teacher in another district. I was raised in an environment that focused on getting a quality education and the value that it has in creating a strong foundation in life. I want to continue that with my wife for our children by continuing to serve on the board.
What is the top issue in your race, and how would you address it? I am proud to have been part of one of only a few districts in St. Clair County that was able to create a plan for in-person learning for this entire school year. I want to continue to be part of the collaboration that made that possible. The school board, the administration, the teachers and staff, the parents and families, as well as the general community all had a voice and a role in developing the plan to provide the best learning environment possible in lieu of the pandemic restrictions.
Why should people vote for you? I have proven over the last six years of service on the board that I am a voice for parents and teachers of District #70. I would be honored to continue to do so for another term.
