Ten large Illinois Lottery jackpots and daily game prizes won since September 2025 remain unclaimed, and one is worth $700,000.

For those who beat the odds and win a large prize, Illinois Lottery officials recommend signing the back of your lottery ticket and making sure to claim your winnings in time.

Prizes from the games Mega Millions, Powerball, Lotto, Lucky Day Lotto, Pick 3, Pick 4 and FastPlay must be claimed within one year of the drawing date. Winners of Mega Millions, Powerball and Lotto can choose a lump sum payment or annuity payments, but must claim their prize within 60 days to opt for the lump sum, officials report.

How to claim a lottery prize

How to claim your prize depends on whether you purchased your winning lottery ticket online or in person, as well as how much you won. For online lottery wins $600 or less, winnings are immediately deposited into your Illinois Lottery account, unless the prize causes your account balance to exceed $2,000.

If you purchased a lottery ticket in-person that won $600 or less, the retailer may cash your winning ticket if funds are available, or you can make an e-Claim, mail in a claim form or make an appointment to visit an Illinois Lottery Claim Center in person.

For bigger prizes, over $600 up to $10,000, you can claim in-person at a claim center with an appointment, file an e-Claim or mail in a form. Prizes worth more than $10,000 but less than $1 million can be claimed in-person or via mail, and prizes over $1 million necessitate a phone call to the Illinois Lottery office.
