Poll results: BND readers in southwest IL vote on top high school football game to attend
High school football has started in the metro-east as Week 1 kicked off Friday — no pun intended — with a long list of quality football games to attend.
In this regard, the latest Belleville News-Democrat poll wanted to know what game you planned to hit up in Week 1
Below were the choices. The poll closed at 11:59 p.m. Thursday.

- Cahokia at Alton
- Belleville West at Danville
- Belleville East at Collinsville
- East St. Louis vs. Baltimore St. Francis at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton Ohio
- Edwardsville at Jackson, Missouri
- Columbia at Mascoutah
- O’Fallon at Normal Community West
- Triad at Mattoon
- Waterloo at Mater Dei
- Freeburg at Sparta
- Wesclin at Breese Central
- Highland at Washington
And the winner is ... East St. Louis vs. Baltimore St. Francis at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton Ohio, which garnered 23% of the votes.
