Find out the latest D-I programs to offer scholarship to East St. Louis wide receiver
The college football scholarship offers continue to accumulate for East St. Louis senior wide receiver Keontez Lewis.
Ranked as the No. 13 overall senior in the state and the No. 82 high school wide receiver in the nation by 247 Sports, the 6-2, 185-pound Lewis said on his Twitter account recently he has received scholarship offers from Virginia, Washington State and University of Arizona.
A key member of an East St. Louis team which finished 14-0 and won the IHSA Class 6A state championship in 2019, Lewis had 39 receptions for 825 yards and 10 touchdowns a year ago. In addition to former national champion Auburn and UCLA, Lewis also has offers from Vanderbilt, Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Mississippi, Oregon, Tennessee, Iowa, Iowa State, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northwestern, Purdue, South Carolina, Texas A&M and West Virginia..
Lewis is one of two East St. Louis wide receivers being recruited by most of the top NCAA Division I programs in the nation. Senior Dominic Lovett is being recruited by defending national champion LSU and Alabama, among others.
Senior Tyler Macon, ranked as one of the top quarterbacks in the Midwest, has verbally committed to Missouri.
The Flyers are scheduled to open their season Aug. 28 at Christian Brothers College Prep in St. Louis.
