Find out the latest P5 program to offer East St. Louis wide receiver scholarship
The number of perennial college football programs hoping to land East St. Louis senior wide receiver Dominic Lovett continues to grow.
Ranked as the No. 4 overall player in the state for the Class of 2021 by 247 Sports, Lovett recently picked up a scholarship offer from Arizona State University. The Sun Devils join Pac-12 rival Oregon in the pursuit of the 5-10, 175-pound Flyers star who helped lead East St. Louis to the IHSA Class 6A state title in November.
Lovett caught 73 passes for 1,541 yards and 16 touchdowns a year ago.
Arizona State may have a tough time landing Lovett, who, according to 247 Sports, lists Alabama, LSU, Georgia, Missouri, Oregon and Penn State among his top choices
Other East St. Louis recruiting news
Keontez Lewis, who will team with Lovett to form one of the top wide receiving duos in the nation this fall, also has many of the top programs in the nation among his top choices.
The 6-1, 170-pound Lewis, who most recently gathered offers from Virginia, Arizona and Washington State, lists Missouri, Mississippi, Oregon, UCLA and South Carolina among his top choices.
Lewis had 39 receptions for 825 yards and 10 touchdowns a year ago. All-state senior quarterback Tyler Macon committed to Missouri earlier this spring.
Underclassmen getting looks
Ranked as the No. 7 junior in the state by 247 Sports, Flyers defensive back Ahmad Robinson recently picked up his first scholarship offer from Indiana University.
The 5-11, 185-pound Robinson is expected to be a key in the Flyers defensive backfield, which graduated NCAA Division I recruits Antonio Johnson (Texas A@M) and Lawaun Powell (Murray State).
Sophomore offensive tackle Miles McVey (6-6, 310) has offers from Mississippi and Bethune-Cookman.
