A rematch of last year’s instant-classic playoff game between Kansas City and Buffalo highlights the Chiefs’ 2022 schedule, which was officially released by the NFL on Thursday night.
KC and Buffalo will once again play at Arrowhead Stadium on Oct. 16. Last year in the postseason, the Chiefs defeated the Bills 42-36 in overtime in what was immediately considered one of the best games in Arrowhead Stadium’s 50-year history.
The Chiefs’ slate is difficult once again, as 12 of their 17 opponents had better-than-.500 records a year ago.
The team quarterbacked by Patrick Mahomes and coached by Andy Reid will open the season on the road against Arizona on Sept. 11, then play its home opener on Thursday Night Football against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sept. 15.
Another marquee matchup: The Chiefs and quarterback Patrick Mahomes get a Super Bowl LV rematch against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tom Brady on an Oct. 2 edition of Sunday Night Football at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.
The Chiefs will close the regular season at Las Vegas against the Raiders.
As previously announced, the Chiefs play host to the Bills, Broncos, Jaguars, Chargers, Jaguars, Rams, Raiders, Seahawks and Titans. They’ll travel to face the Texans, Cardinals, Bengals, Broncos, Colts, Raiders, Chargers, 49ers and Buccaneers.
KC also will have exhibition games against Chicago (road), Washington and Green Bay (both home).
Chiefs single-game tickets go on sale Friday morning; Jackson County residents can begin purchasing at 8 a.m., then season-ticket holders get a presale opportunity at 10 before the sales of seats to the public begins at 11.
