Another McAlister’s Deli is coming to the metro-east
McAlister’s Deli, the fast casual chain that serves soup and sandwiches, will open a new location in Edwardsville by the end of 2017.
The company expects construction to be completed this winter, weather permitting.
This location will be the fourth McAlister’s Deli in the metro-east. The company has eateries in Shiloh, Scott Air Force Base and Fairview Heights.
Edwardsville Economic Development Director Walter Williams confirmed in 2016 that a $34 million development was coming to the area.
At the time, the city expected Fresh Thyme grocery store to anchor the complex.
Plans also included a Global Brew Tap House and a McAlister’s Deli on an out lot of the property along Illinois 157 south of Governor’s Parkway, across the street from the SIUE entrance. McAlister’s could not immediately disclose the address of the planned Edwardsville location. The Edwardsville Intelligencer reported a coming soon sign for McAlister’s on Illinois 157 near Ginger Creek Drive.
