Ed Sheeran will play Busch Stadium in 2018

Ed Sheeran will play at Busch Stadium on Sept. 6, 2018, the Cardinals have announced.

The singer-songwriter has won several Grammy awards; it will be his first concert in St. Louis since 2015. He canceled a concert in St. Louis earlier this month when protests erupted following the not-guilty verdict for former St. Louis police officer and Althoff graduate Jason Stockley, cleared of criminal wrongdoing in the death of Anthony Lamar Smith in 2011.

Sheeran had planned to perform at Scottrade Center on Sept. 17, but demonstrations throughout St. Louis forced a number of St. Louis events to be canceled that weekend, including a U2 concert at The Dome at America’s Center on Sept. 16. The Stockley verdict was announced Sept. 15.

Tickets go on sale for the Sheeran appearance at Busch at 10 a.m. Oct. 20.

The ticket sale site does not specify what tickets will cost.
