Serious crash closes portion of Frank Scott Parkway in Shiloh, police investigating

A fatal car crash closed down a portion of Frank Scott Parkway in Shiloh for much of the morning and afternoon Friday.

Shiloh Police are investigating an accident on Frank Scott Parkway between Green Mount Road and Hartmann Lane. Accident reconstruction crews were called to the area, police said.

Police say the driver of a Chrysler Town and Country crossed the center line and struck a westbound Mercury Grand Marquis. The driver of the Mercury was identfied as Clarence A. Tritley, 102, who as died at a local hospital as the result of injuries sustained in the crash.

The driver of the Chrysler, who is not being identified pending further investigation, was taken to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Police say he is cooperating with investigators and drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor.

An official with the Shiloh Police Department said detectives are currently investigating the accident and will release more information later today. No other details were available.
