I am a current member of the School Board for East Alton Wood River Community High School, currently serving my 24th year on this Board, and presently holding the office of Vice President. I was also a P.O.C. Firefighter for the City of Wood River for 30 years until retiring in 2015. While serving on the Fire Department, I received my Firefighter III, Hazmat, Fire Apparatus Engineer, and EMT Certification through the State of Illinois. My record shows the level of responsibility, commitment, and genuine dedication that I have for Wood River. I would consider it an honor to be elected to the Wood River City Council.

Why are you running?

Wood River is changing. For the city to progress, we need to unite. I want to represent this community and be the voice that promotes progress for residents of all ages.

What is the top issue in your race, and how would you address it?

To improve the infrastructure of the city: stormwater and sewer separation, the flooding problems, and road repairs. These issues can be rectified by Fiscal Responsibility and securing additional Grants.Would like to see Council Meeting agenda posted on city web site prior to the meetings, so the residents are aware of issues that will be discussed.

Why should people vote for you?

I have always taken the time to listen to the concerns of the people and the changes they feel are needed. While serving in this position, I will be the voice for the people and seek solutions for their concerns. I believe in the power of progress. I want to be part of the solution that will forge Wood River into the future, not just for our community today, but for our children and the city that will be theirs tomorrow.
