Why are you running?
As a lifelong resident of Wood River, not only is it where I grew up, it is where my wife and I decided to raise our family and where our roots keep us. Wood River is my home where I can go to a local coffee shop or diner and know most of the people there. It’s a city built rich in history that needs an eye to the future! I am running for the city council to help protect the history of our city while ensuring future generations are able to enjoy living in Wood River like my family and friends did. I will work to make sure the city is in a position to adapt to what families need and want while providing businesses the support needed to be successful and ensure the priorities set keep the city fiscally responsible to the taxpayers.
What is the top issue in your race, and how would you address it?
I believe the top issue in this race is balancing the needs of Wood River and its residents while balancing fiscal constraints without overburdening our families and businesses with taxes. This is not a concern unique to Wood River but rather being faced by all of the communities in the metro-east area. Although a struggle, I think we can all come together and address the flooding needs like sewer separation, building the retention basins to expand commercial and residential development on the east side of town and saving homeowners money by removing homes and properties from the flood plain.
Why should people vote for you?
I believe people should vote for me because I will always listen to their concerns and make sure their voice is heard when discussing issues before the city council. In order for Wood River to become the great city it has been and can be, it is vital everyone’s concerns are heard. I will work with everyone to ensure the needs of the city are met.
