Please list the highlights of your civic involvement: Until recently, I’ve been more professionally focused and traveled a lot for work, but spent time coaching and assisting youth sports teams. In 2020, I was elected President of my neighborhood HOA and invested time at our grade schools teaching Smart for Art. With a seat on the school board, I’m looking to increase my involvement in our community.

Why are you running? My family has a long history in O’Fallon, and we’ve always believed that involvement in the community and our school board is very important. I was raised understanding the critical role that our schools have had in driving O’Fallon’s continued growth. As an OTHS graduate with two children who will soon be Panthers, I’m committed to serving our community to help ensure the continuation of our high educational standards.

What is the top issue in your race, and how would you address it? Throughout these extremely difficult times, our schools have done an amazing job. Our educators, administrators, and board members have spent countless hours and considerable effort to provide the best possible education for our students, and I believe they should be commended. I also believe that the issues our schools face are becoming more challenging than ever. As a member of the OTHS 203 School Board, I will help our community successfully address these challenges.

Why should people vote for you? With a professional background in engineering and business, I’ve spent most of my career in roles that focus on problem solving. I have a progressive, but fiscally conservative, approach and believe that our students and their success must be our top priority. Our actions must drive increased value for student growth and performance. I believe we must provide our teachers with a safe, supportive work environment. I also feel strongly that while students, teachers, administrators, and board members must fulfill their individual roles, we must work together openly and collaboratively to solve problems in a cost effective manner. In light of this, James Huff and I were endorsed by the O’Fallon Federation of Teachers with whom we maintain strong relations and regular communication. In the end, our collective goal must be to ensure that our children receive the best opportunities possible. I know my skills and beliefs will add value to the outstanding team of existing experienced educators, administrators, and board members in our district.
