‘Dangerous to the lives’: Belleville orders apartment residents to leave

Residents of the Rob Nora Apartments at 7009 W. Main St. in Belleville have been told their occupancy permits will be revoked on July 27 because a circuit court judge ruled the building owners allowed the property to become "dangerous to the lives" of the residents. City inspectors documented several code violations. The property manager says he is trying to get things fixed up but it won’t be done by July 27. Some residents said the city didn’t give them enough time to leave.
