The Illinois Department of Public Health reported yet another increase in the number of coronavirus cases in the state Tuesday.

During his daily COVID-19 news conference, Gov. J.B. Pritzker announced 1,222 new cases of the virus and 74 additional deaths.

The announcement brings the statewide total of positive coronavirus cases to 23,247 and the total number of deaths to 868.
