Use the BND’s Voter Guide to research candidates running in the 2022 Illinois primary
Welcome to Belleville News-Democrat’s Voter Guide for the June 28 Illinois primary election.
We have reached out to over 70 candidates seeking their party’s nomination in contested primary races for federal, state and local offices in St. Clair, Madison, Clinton, Monroe, Randolph and Washington counties and asked them to complete a candidate questionnaire.
The names of candidates who have returned questionnaire responses are hyperlinked in the list below so that BND subscribers can access the candidates’ answers to questions about issues important to their communities.
There will be far more contested races in the Nov. 8 election after the June 28 primary sets the path for candidates running in the fall.
We will continually update this Voter Guide for the primary as we receive responses from candidates across the metro-east. It also will be updated for the Nov. 8 election.
The early voting period runs from May 19 to June 27.
On primary day - Tuesday, June 28 - polls will be open 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Also, you can request a mail-in ballot from your county clerk or local election commission.
If you have any questions or comments about the list of candidates, email your message to Elections2022@bnd.com.
